Welcome to this week’s Marketing for Romance Writers Blog Hop Challenge with the topic of When I’m not writing, I… If you’ve been around my blog at all, you’ll know that I’ve pretty much beaten the ink out of this topic in discussing how I’m always writing and now that my healthcare freelance is getting busier in addition to my fiction writing—it’s getting worse.
I’ve written about many different topics, and some of the freelance healthcare writing topics are related to writing. I’ve written about lots of health topics but lately…I’m not taking my own advice.
Writing Posts in Review
If you’re a newcomer to my blog, welcome! I’m glad to have you! I hope you stay and have a look around. But perhaps you’ve missed the plethora of topics where I belabor about how writing is like the air I breathe.
That I should be doing more things when I’m not writing (and believe it or not, I do have some hobbies I discuss in some of the posts), but for the most part, my computer is attached to me like some sci-fi thriller where it has become an extra appendage.
Want proof? Check out some of these previous posts to discover how all this writing can end up not always being good for your health.

What Happens To Your Health When You’re Always Writing
I’ve learned that our bodies aren’t meant to always be glued to a chair with butt in the seat and hands on the keyboard—writing.
The body doesn’t like to be immobile and doing the same thing over and over and complains in the form of back and neck aches, fiction/freelance fanny and other aggrevating health concerns.
I’ve attempted to resist this by creating a DIY Treadmill Desk . This is fabulous, but it helps if you use it consistently!
I purchased an ergonomically correct laptop desk to raise to reduce neck strain and a Bluetooth keyboard. But I’ve still started to notice discomfort in my wrists and hands from all the long hours typing.
Hence, not even paying enough attention to my own advice about avoiding Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).
It seems that I spend too much time #writing, and not doing other things when I’m…not writing. #MFRW Share on XPerhaps that’s something I need to work on.
What About the Other Authors?
Perhaps the other authors have some more insight into fabulous, fun things they do when they’re not writing, or maybe they’re better at taking their own advice and doing more things and less writing.
Hop around and check them out! Me? I’ll try to work on those other activities, but it’s hard when writing is like breathing. It’s just what I do.
P.S.- If you hurry, there’s still time to enter this contest right here for a chance to win a Kindle Fire or Echo Dot.
How true: “my computer is attached to me like some sci-fi thriller where it has become an extra appendage.”
love the title of the post.
